Summary/Abstract: The author argues that the image of the Polish ‘Pani’ in the Russian culturalhistorical discourse is formed under the influence of Marina Mnishek, the character of Russian history of the early 17th century. Historical description and evaluation of the individual are given in the works of N.M. Karamzin, aesthetic interpretation and transformation of the image are presented in A.S.Pushkin’s drama ‘Boris Godunov’ and in the poetry of A.A. Akhmatova and M.I. Tsvetaeva. The image of Mnishek created in the early lyric of M.I.Tsvetaeva demonstrates a key feature of author’s idiostyle, reality is difficult to interpret and transform aesthetically.
