„Revival” of Volga Germans

Summary/Abstract: This article reviews migratory phenomenon of Volga Germans from the standpoint of government, history and religion. It’s an attempt to realize the migratory phenomenon of Volga Germans on the base of unpublished sources and materials from personal archive of the author. The author tries to explain on the base of multiple facts the essence of original concept “Volga as Jordan” and reviews the interaction of Evangelical Lutheran Church on the Volga with European Evangelical Lutheran church, which made sure the retention and development of Volga German authentic religious traditions.
