Summary/Abstract: Meister Eckhart’s neo-scholastic doctrine, the main exponent of medieval German mysticism, is characterized by a purely subjective speculation that made possible the birth of German philosophical idealism. Centrifugal nature of this form of mysticism against the Roman Catholic Church created a favourable environment for the emergence of the Protestant Reformation. Nazi ideology claimed the political doctrine of Aryan racial superiority with the arguments of an alleged “myth of blood” found in one of Meister Eckhart’s sermons. Following these considerations, a study on this form of mysticism is in itself important.
