Summary/Abstract: Improvement of the current legislation system regulating the sphere of migration helps the processes of migrants’ adaptation and integration. On June 13, 2012 Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, approved a Concept of the State Migration Policy up to 2025. The state will observe its humanitarian obligations to forced migrants; secure their successful integration and adaptation; prioritize processes of interaction between migrants and host communities as well as counteract illegal migration. Under the new concept, foreigners seeking employment and registration in Russia will be rated. Criteria for the selection of migrants could be their age, education, qualification, and ability to adapt. It is proposed to develop professional training programmes preparing specialists for occupations in demand. International cooperation in the sphere of migration involves development of the legal base for cooperation, interaction with international organizations, and conclusion of international agreements.
