Summary/Abstract: The Eneolithic site of Coţatcu, Podgoria township, lies in the North-Eastern side of Buzău county, at cca. 15 km North-West of Râmnicu Sărat town, in a hilly area on the right side of Coţatcu River terrace. The research objectives were the establishment of the site stratigraphy and chronology, as well as the research of the archaeological complexes undestroyed by the earth flows. The most important archaeological complexes were the dwellings, from which L8 burnt house stands out by its abundance and diversity of the artifacts. There were discovered pots in situ and fragment of walls painted with white lines. The house had a massive hearth. On the site profile there were identified five habitation levels. They belong to Neolithic period (Starčevo-Criş culture) and to Eneolithic period (Stoicani-Aldeni cultural group).
