Summary/Abstract: The author has interviewed approximately 900 people in seven countries about Hungarian traditional healing and their own memories linked to this specific area. According to these, healing parents, grandparents, midwives and specialists can outline the traditional Hungarian medicine. It is based on a holistic view, it is archaic and psychosomatic. Prayer and faith are both important in it. The sick need to start their inner healing processes. This way their own mental power is a main factor in healing. Traditional medicine preserves the elements of an old (pagan) religion that linked people more to nature. The pharmacy of this type of medicine is nature. Natural medicine and spiritual medicine, as well as formal, official medicine use the best and tried methods of ancient spiritual healing.
