The Mythological Image of Satan in Persian and Russian Literature

Summary/Abstract: In this paper, we reveal the genesis of the mythological image of Satan through consideration of the religious traditions of different cultures, mainly the teachings of Islam and Orthodoxy. Based on several works of Persian and Russian literature, we describe the artistic and mythological role of this image in the understanding of the complex picture of the world and the inconsistency of human relationships by Persian and Russian authors.
