Summary/Abstract: On the basis of documents no longer confidential from the Russian archives, the author throws light on the last years of the life of the well-known Bulgarian general. A participant in the National Liberation Movement, in the Russo-Turkish War of Liberation, in the Unification of Eastern Roumelia with the Principality of Bulgaria, in the Serbian-Bulgarian War, a convinced Russophil and enemy of King Ferdinand’s policy, before the First World War he passed on service in the Russian Army. During the Civil War in Russia, as officer of the Tsar’s Army, Radko Dimitrlev, together with other military figures, was condemned and executed by order of the Extraordinary Commission for Fighting, the Counter-revolution (Cheka). He has now been rehabilitated but his grave is unknown.
