Summary/Abstract: There are many factors that affect States’ foreign policies. These factors can be grouped as internal and external factors. Traditional approaches to international relations sharply distinguish domestic and foreign policy from each other and ignore internal factors affecting foreign policy. However, political regimes of States and state identity of these regimes are one of the most important factors affecting foreign policy. Qualities of the political regime appear to be an element that provides continuity in Turkish foreign policy. First, internal and external stability that needed by the regime in order to ensure its own survival has led Turkey to follow status quo and balanced foreign policy.
