Summary/Abstract: Concentration Camps and Prisons on the Country's Map (1944-1964). The two sub-chapters deal with two main issues: 1. The measures taken by the political power in Romania after August 23, 1944 and especially after March 6, 1945 with the view to deprive of liberty those considered to be war criminals or opponents of the new communist regime. 2. The social categories had in view, or, in other words, all those who had entered "the limbo of misfortune and pain", all those deprived of liberty, who were the victims of the communists. A rich bibliography given in the notes, leads to a deep knowledge of the life in the communist prisons of Romania between 1944-1964.
