INTRODUCING ESP- TO HIGH SCHOOL & UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is researching ESP as the result of concerns arising from the teaching activities, exercising the profession; and it is also the outcome of direct experience with the subjects of education. These concerns prove that the activity aims at improving teaching in the sense in which students discover the usefulness of studying foreign languages, especially English, and develop their internal motivation of the study. Our school is not fully connected with the concrete realities of a changing society, asking for practical training, which allows graduate students to integrate effectively in a globalized labor market, to have quick access to information, to acquire communication skills in various fields, that they will come in contact with. It is a fact that English is spoken all over the world; its present dominance has developed only in the last four or five decades and people are more and more aware of the necessity of different ways of learning and studying it. Many studies of the English language occur on different levels, in various settings and contexts as its knowledge facilitates communication, the access to the resources of new information and research of common global problems. ESP has become one of the most prominent areas of EFL teaching today and a new movement which appeared as a demand for language teaching professions and as a revolution in linguistics searching for new ways to use the language in real communication to satisfy students’ different needs and interests.
