Summary/Abstract: The main difference in perception of marriage between sociology and cultural anthropology is that while the first remains of the Western vision of marriage, the second focuses on the concept of ambiguity. The author describes the origin of the institution of marriage, but also lists those forms of relationships which are not accepted in our culture, and more often simply unknown. At the same time she examines the concubinage as a phenomenon of informal relationships, which has become in recent years to be more and more common in our cultural circle.
