Summary/Abstract: This is a study on the beginnings of the Russian Christianity (initiated with the preaching of Holy Apostle Andrew, blessed with the linguistic contributions of Saints Cyril and Methodius, and spread as a mass movement at the end of the 10th century), with a special stress on the main events that oc-curred during the Medieval and Modern history: the contribution of prince Vladimir of Kiev to the spread of faith, the relationship with the Byzantium, the impact of the Mongolian invasion in the 13th century, the patriarchate (1558-1721), the Holy Synod (1721-1801), the infl uence of Czar Peter the Great in the Russian Orthodox Church, etc.
