Summary/Abstract: The notion entertained in our country as to the predomination here of a model of liberal democracy and market economy is imprecise and exaggerated. What is dominant, in fact, is a model of oligarchic quasi-capitalism. The ultra-liberal utopia serves as a fig leaf hiding this quasi-capitalist oligarchy, which is actually the mutant form of the post-Communist nomenclature. Serving the latter is the new, radical red-brown synthesis between neo-Communism and neo-Nazism. The ideological battle between these two is not only for Bulgaria’s past but for the country’s future as well.
