Summary/Abstract: From the perspective of the European Union law principle of precedence, the relevant national constitutional texts seem unproblematic. Besides, for most of the national or European doctrine the debate supremacy v. precedence has become of little interest. The priority in application being unconditionally acknowledged both by the Romanian Constitutional Court and the national doctrine of constitutional law, there are few obstacles to the efficiency of the European Union law. However, the national constitutional text may raise questions of inner coherence.
