Summary/Abstract: The author of the article states a thesis about a groundbreaking character of poetry volume titled Wszelki wypadek [Could Have]. The author points out to the two construction elements that distinguish this particular volume from earlier works of Wisława Szymborska. The first such element is an accumulation of expressions such as word, language, speech; the second is the intensive use of various enumerations, repetitions and parallel systems. The aim of using such composition techniques is to show the language as a ‘rotten tool’ of communication. The analysis of the poetry leads to emphasizing language clichés and schemes. By interpreting constructions used in the volume (especially ones in title text) the author of the article shows how forms of expression lead to shallow communication or even lack of it.
