Summary/Abstract: The article considers some questions related to the contemporary occult practices, such as psychic séances, divinations by cards, influence on karmic conditionalities, etc., and their presence online. Magic today is focused on personal needs mostly belonging to the romantic and professional spheres. Mainly in situations of crisis occult practices compensate for the insufficiencies of the scientific and religious explanations of reality. Between legitimacy and mistrust, being simultaneously ‘sensitives’ and charlatans, practitioners reassure the existence of the individuals, fill them with confidence, and inspire their activity, while turning their basic anxieties into a commodity or into a recreational object.
