Summary/Abstract: Demographic trends as they pertain to Jews in Našice were analyzed on the basis of Main Registers „Rabinata Orahovica" and of the census of the Habsburg Monarchy. Their presence was noted at the time of modernization processes that took place in Croatia in the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century. Jews then started migrating into Croatia from Hungary drawn by the lesser competition of the trading capital. That was their primary impetus for settling in Croatia, i.e. for moving out of Hungary and other countries of the Habsburg , i.e. Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The size of the Jewish community in Našice in the 19th and 20th century was a direct consequence of immigration. Jewish immigration into Našice reaches its peak in 1873, when Jews in Croatia gained full political rights. However, this immigration trend gradually declined, judging by the census from 1900 and from 1910.
