Summary/Abstract: Consideration of the cultural identity of Bosnia and Herzegovina in this paper is not based on cultural identity as a historical fact. The concern of its thinking is to penetrate to the origins of its essence takes pride of place over cultural identity in the field of vision of scholarly research. One then resolves to reflect on cultural identity in the light of its liberation from the framework of its 'birth place'. Hence the question whether one can situate views on cultural identity in Bosnia and Herzegovina exclusively within its birth place. The scholarly aspects of this phenomenon have acquired the particularization of cultural identity into the aggregate of its numerous phenomenological features which have lost their source of authenticity in life as identity. This type of approach does not have the 'security' of the conceptualized cultural identity with the articulation of its formed phenomenological features, on the one hand, nor the 'security' of understanding closeness of its being from the relationship that the being 'preserves' cultural identity in the field of cultural events, on the other hand. To the historical awareness that the warranty of its research and results deposits in the occupation of the being in the subject, there is certainly a loss of being. To the aesthetic awareness (Gadamer) cultural identity appears as a cultural event and that awareness reveals it as a subject of cultural significance. Behind cultural identity as a 'factor of abstraction' there remains a neutralized cultural identity, its being as a historical active process. The four approaches to the cultural identity of Bosnia and Herzegovina point to the indicators of the area from which the being of cultural identity expands into the complexity of the problematic of the possibility of acquiring a 'view' of the pure cultural identity. The complexity and domination of the general conditions of the entire formation of being that leaves nothing in the pureness of manifestation calls for a different term for cultural identity, calls for a word that has not the meaning of custom that the cultural identity preserves in the image of life. One should speak of it as of its very essence, not merely as a connotation or embellishment of being. We discover that words about cultural identity of Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot be an end in themselves - simply a subject of consideration. Experimentatio is a rebellion against the Word that is enslaved to custom.
