Summary/Abstract: For decades, many investors have built portfolios using equity, debt, cash or deposits and property. Much has changed in the last decade with respect to the distribution of wealth across the nations. An alternative investment includes financial or emotional assets. Alternative investments have the potential to offer investors higher returns, ensure diversification and capital preservation on volatile markets. On the other hand alternative investments may be relatively illiquid and this is one of the key limitations of this asset class. There is very limited information on historical risks and return data for that specific instrument. According to analysts forecast, the interest in this type of investment should arise.
