Summary/Abstract: The prefect, as representative of the Government in the territory, has a significant role in local public services and is the guarantor of law and public order. He provides the climate of social peace, balance and reconcile national interests in his county. Each county operates a prefect appointed or dismissed by government decision. For appointment to this position a person must fulfill, in addition to the requirements of any public official and some specific senior civil servants.
