Summary/Abstract: In the paper the comparative analysis of participants of postgraduate accountancy studies PAS, run in the Faculty of Agricultural Economics of Warsaw Agricultural University in Warsaw and in Plonsk is presented. The most important source of information about PAS was Internet in Warsaw and local press in Plonsk. Decisive factors of PAS choice were faculty reputation and syllabus. Participants are mainly hired workers in a large company and they finance the studies first of all from their own sources. The students of PAS are mostly women and the dominant age group is between 26 and 30. Participants of PAS are mainly inhabitants of the city in which the study takes place. Participants with higher education predominate and about 40 percent of students work in accounts department. The share of participants who work in accountancy for 1 to 6 years is higher in Warsaw than in Plonsk and the number of participants with the practice in accountancy above 15 years is not large. About 25 percent of students are going to get the accountant certificate. Students expect to acquire in the course of study skills necessary for independent accounting and company analysis.
