Summary/Abstract: The particularity of Romanian literature is that the problem is more complex. The years of communism have caused serious distortions in its evolution. There was a literature of ideological concoction, how authentic was it, we all know, and it was a literature of internal exile, when the idea of publishing was driven away. The real literature of exile, written in banishment, was the one which was allowed to express itself in freedom. Of course, freedom does not mean compulsory value, but the artificial discontinuity between the literature written inside the borders of the homeland, and that of centrifugal attitude, needs to be abolished. There are many tensions between the inside and the outside, but literary history is supposed to ignore them.
