Summary/Abstract: The paper explores the routine exclusion of Bulgarian Roma from quality education during Post-Socialism. It mainly concentrates on Roma segregation and poverty as the main factors for their lower educational achievements. The paper highlights the changes in the Bulgarian tax system after its accession to the EU and claims that these changes contribute to the further impoverishment of a large proportion of the Bulgarian population and hamper any attempts to specifically address Roma poverty.
