Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the theoretical model called “the Learning Paradigm” which was proposed by authors Robert Barr and John Tagged in 1995 as an educational model designed to revolutionize American undergraduate higher education. The new theoretical model is described as an alternative to the current educational model, called „the Instruction Paradigm”. This paper examines the elements of the innovative alternative educational model, trying to identify both its limitations and advantages, with a view to its possible adoption by the Romanian education system of all or some of the elements included.
