Summary/Abstract: The author argues that the so called possessive pronouns belong to the case paradigm of personal pronouns. She understands ‘case’ as a syntactic relation between the noun phrase and the syntactic construction controlling this noun phrase In that framework possessive pronouns are functioning as exponents of the genitive case relation.
