Summary/Abstract: This article reveals dependence between sense and life orientation and religious beliefs of believers. It is established that the tendency to understand God as a merciful and doting mentor is related to the aspirations to order one’s life according not only to spiritual and moral values but also to pragmatic and egoistic values which help preserve one’s individuality, contribute to fi nancial growth and solving personal problems.
