Summary/Abstract: With the help of documents from the 19th century, we have identified an Orthodox church that had been built in Limba between 1867 and 1884. The parishioners contributed considerable amounts of money, while the Saguna Foundation offered only limited funding. Due to the lack of money, the raising of the church was slow and the building itself became dilapidated. In August 1942, only one month after extensive repairs (tiling and plastering), the church was completely destroyed by a fire. In spite of aggravating historical events, a new church dedicated to the same patron was soon built.
