Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this paper is to present the findings of empirical research related to significance of nonmaterial motivation in the context of employees’ commitment. In the text, there has been assumed a conception describing nonmaterial motivation as two areas: directed on work, and directed on employee. Due to formal requirements, the author focuses on research of factors connected with workers. In the theoretical part there has been presented relationships between nonmaterial incentives and commitment. The article tries to indicate significance of nonmaterial motivators in the process of commitment creation. The empirical part contains research findings and interpretation of the case study related to the appraisal of nonmaterial motivating system in one big service company. The result of research confirmed theoretical assumptions about strong relationship betwen nonmaterial incentives and a positive level of commitment.
