Attitudes towards women survivals of sexual violence in Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: The article briefly presents the problem about the attitudes towards women survivals of sexual violence. Main part concerns the research of these atti¬tudes in Bulgaria by means of "The Attitudes toward Women Rape Victims Scale" by Colleen Ward. The analysis shows that the traditional attitudes victimizing the raped women dominate in Bulgarian community. Measurement of attitudes registered significant gender differences. Women are more tolerant towards victims than men. The results are presented in detail and discussed in comparison with other analogous surveys.
