Hybridisation of Orthographic Dictionary in Upper Sorbian Lexicography

Summary/Abstract: The introduction to the paper offers a definition of the terms dictionary hybridization / {hybrid dictionary}. In the following parts, the article deals with the condition of Upper Sorbian lexicography which has been defined on the basis of the division of language dictionaries used in Polish metalexicography excluding typologisation methods which are inappropriate for Sorbian lexicography. In its initial part, the paper discusses the linguistic, national and political situation of Sorbian minority in Germany. In its further parts the article presents a brief characteristic of an orthographic dictionary as a type of a hybrid dictionary. Additionally, it discusses the scope of hybridisation of the most recent edition of Sorbian orthographic dictionary, including the functions it has in Sorbian lexicography.
