Summary/Abstract: The subject matter of the paper is a grammatical description of phraseological units in contemporary Polish dictionaries. Both the scope and characteristics of inflectional‑syntactical information are described in the perspective of the latest research regarding the grammar of phraseological units. The monolingual Polish language dictionaries are considered in the analysis, as well as the phraseological dictionaries. A basic methodological assumption of the paper is a postulate to describe phraseological units analogically to lexemes. They are a type of linguistic (lexical) units, which means that they should be placed at the same level as lexemes. Consequently, lexical description of phraseological units (both in general and phraseological dictionaries) should consider their grammatical features, such as paradigm (the presence or absence of inflectional categories), syntactic patterns and grammatical classification. Such information can not be limited only to providing information on the characteristics of components (or the head component) of phraseologisms. As the latest studies within phraseology show, phraseological units can have their own inflectional and syntactic features.
