Summary/Abstract: In 2013 the 40th anniversary of signing the Leuenberg Agreement meets the “Year of the Catechisms”, declared by the Synode of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland. In this context, the article analyses, whether the Leuenberg Agreement can be considered as ecumenical catechism, by pointing to concurrence between the content of the basis for a church fellowship it establishes (similarly to art. VII, Augsburg Confession: agreement in the right teaching/preaching of the Gospel and the right administration of the sacraments) with the contents of Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. In its second part, the article reviews the way Community of Protestant Churches in Europe realises in its activities the practical aspects of realising a church fellowship foreseen by the Leuenberg Agreement, which was started with it.
