Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on few arguments backing up the idea that “beyond the limits” in American and Romanian financial markets implies, putting aside the semantic equivalence, an entirely different content: exceeding of a reasonable top limit, in the case of the USA, while for Romania it means the need of surpassing a bottom limit that reveals the actual underdevelopment of this market. However, beyond this huge gap, a common issue can be revealed: the failure of the central banks in both countries to foresee the developments and to take measures in due time in a market they supposedly carefully survey.
