The Development of a Durable Economy - the Need of the Romanian Economy

Summary/Abstract: The durable development of the economy is a complex problem due to the weakness of social and economic complexes where this development is moving, just as the numerous imponderables of the act of its projection in the plan of strategy and policy. The durable development starts from the matrix of going through a serious crisis. Because of this, however well conceived it may be, the durable development will bear the general print of the transitions where it starts from. Romania's option for the creation and functioning of the market economy represents the fundamental premises for the country achieving durable development. Any development permanently needs two fundamental things: an engine to put it into motion and a pilot that is to operate the engine. The engine together with the pilot, or each with its specific role, gives expression to the actual economic market system, thus justifying Romania's option for its increase. The qualitative change of the economic increase and the modernization of its structure supposes adjusting to the new technologies and to increase the input efficiency, the continual and irreversible upwards movement, the auto-maintenance of the increase by more efficient net investments.
