Interethnic Marriages in the City of Plovdiv During the Period 1950-1975

Summary/Abstract: The article summarizes the scientific understanding of mixed marriages in general and the interethnic marriages in particular. Then the text focuses on the interethnic marriages in the city of Plovdiv during the period between 1950 and 1975. Statistical data about the number of the interethnic marriages between Armenians and Bulgarians, Jews and Bulgarians, Turks and Bulgarians and Turks and Gypsies, according to the Municipal Register of the Marriages in the city of Plovdiv are shown for the first time in this text.
