THE FIRST YEARS OF THE ROMANIAN EXILE AFTER WWII, REFLECTED IN MIRCEA ELIADE’S CORRESPONDENCE AND NEWSPAPER ARTICLES

Summary/Abstract: This paper aims at analysing some of the most important aspects concerning Mircea Eliade’s contribution in the Romanian literature of exile, in the very firs years after the Second World War, aspects that come from his letters or from his publishing activity. The aim is to express his status as a leader of the exiled people, as a creator of an ideatical system and as an initiator of cultural projects for strengthening the Romanian culture from abroad.
