Piotrków county economic situation in years 1919-1921

Summary/Abstract: The material includes a description of the economic problems that occurred in the Piotrków county in years 1919-1921. Some of them are the result of a conditions which took place during the Austro-Hungarian occupation in the time of World War I. The others were the outcome of the participation of the young Polish state in the war in order to maintain recently recaptured independence. Among these problems should be mentioned difficulties in rebuilding the local industry, as well as increase in efficiency of agriculture destroyed during the war. These and many other issues are shown on the basis of archival material from the State Archives in Piotrkow and scientific literature.
