Summary/Abstract: General Problems of the Relationship of Settlement Communities and Settlement Self-Government. The paper is a theoretical contribution to problems of the formation of self-government of settlements and settlement communities. It consists of three parts: state of the art of solving these problems in home and foreign literature;the drawing of the referential framework of sociological problems of the settlement self-government and settlement communities; the identification of self-government characteristics of settlement communities in sociological literature. The paper initiates into a new field of sociological problems concerning the relationship of settlement communities and settlement local government, it attempts to introduce the subject-matter theoretically and to outline a general framework of sociological research.
