Summary/Abstract: The 2006 campaign was in part a study season, with limited excavations in Sectors SD and W and at the top of the tell. In sector SD, some new Akkadian and post-Akkadian remains were revealed, but it were the Ninevite 5 period strata that were the main objective of this research, foremost a shrine which has proved the continuity of a tradition of small sanctuaries existing in this part of the town. In Sector W, a massive Ninevite 5 period platform of unclear function was investigated. Surface cleaning at the top of the tell revealed a pebble pavement, presumably of a post-Akkadian date.
