Summary/Abstract: The long-term interest of every country in terms of crisis and in post-crisis period is to, as far as possible and on a larger scale, attract Greenfield investments and export-oriented foreign direct investment. According to the experience of European transition countries, it is evident that there is a difference in motivation for investment, and depending on whether foreign investors are export oriented or not. Companies that are export-oriented, first of all appreciate the stable political situation, qualified workforce and a stable social situation. Low labor costs as a motivational factor in these types of companies with foreign participation are not quite important. There are three main categories of investment incentives: 1) fiscal initiatives, 2) finance initiative, 3) other investment incentives.
