Summary/Abstract: This paper attempts to identify the increased need for the employee training and development according to the new and changing business conditions. Competitiveness, once based on the tangible resources such as the land or property, energy, money etc, is now based on knowledge, as an intangible asset, and managing the knowledge as efficiently as possible. Knowledge has become the most significant capital and the foundation of the organizational development. In order to empower a structural change of the employee's knowledge and skills, modern organizations are encouraging HR training and development, seeking for the best methods and instruments to enable this change. This should lead to the employee as the key and the most efficient factor of the organizational development, flexibility and competitive advantage.
