Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study, based mainly on extant correspondence, is to complete the portrait of the well-known Czech chemist Bohuslav Raýman (1852–1910). It focuses on his activities related to editing and authorship of entries in Otto’s Encyclopaedia. This article includes an edition of several letters he exchanged with another editor of the Encyclopaedia, Professor T. G. Masaryk.
