Summary/Abstract: The profession of surgeon had a bad reputation în the 18th century. Their occupation was more the one of a craftsman than that of a physician with academic background. With the Silesian Wars, it became more and more apparent to the absolutistic monarchs that the medical education had to be improved, since only health subjects could be useful in wars. The collegium medico-chirurgicum in Berlin has not yet been included in studies about the academic peregrination of transylvanian students. The author presents the six transylvanian students that could be identified who studied at the collegium during the second half of the 18th century.
