Summary/Abstract: The European Union (EU) is mired in the worst economic and political crisis of its 60-year history. Internal cohesion is weak, external influence is limited and economic turmoil threatens to tear the Euro-zone apart at the seams. For the first time in recent memory, it is possible to imagine an EU member state leaving the organization¯or even the breakup of the Euro currency or dissolution of the EU itself.
