Summary/Abstract: The field of renewable energy is already viewed as a new kind of industry which is related to the clean energy. The increase in investment by this sector is without any similar precedence even in the period of crises from the second half of the first decade in XXI-st century. Development based on the renewable energy diminishes the effects of prosperity shortages and in case of system approach it can be also a stimulator for economic growth. The inclusion of renewable energy industry into the structure of regional innovation strategies is guarantying the strengthening in R+D sector and leading to formulating the ecoinnovative model. The present work shows benefits which result from supporting the renewable energy industry in the period of crisis as well as formulates assumption useful in creation of a model for ecoinnovative economy.
