Problems of environmental evaluation of agriculture sustainable development

Summary/Abstract: The problem of the environmental evaluation of the agricultural sustainability results from the lack of indicators which can be used for the evaluation on different scale (micro, macro). This paper presents environmental indicators of farming and farms sustainability on the basis of literature. An analysis was conducted using the data of Central Statistical Office, data of Agency for Agriculture Restructuring and Modernisation and own scientific research. The research shows that analyzed actions of CAP, particularly agri-environmental programme and Single Area Payment Scheme (SAPS) connected with cross-compliance, can bring good environmental results. It is necessary to elaborate indicators, which allow for monitoring environmental sustainability on farms level what can have influence on farming sustainability.
