Summary/Abstract: Your book “Inventing the Jew. Anti-Semitic Stereotypes in Romanian and other Central-East European Cultures” was recently published in the USA (University of Nebraska Press, Lincoln, 2009). It was presented on October 9, 2009, the Holocaust Remembrance Day in Romania, at the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York. Professors Vladimir Tismăneanu, Randolph Braham, Moshe Idel and yourself attended the event. Why did you choose this title? After all, is the “real Jew” not under discussion as well?
