Summary/Abstract: On 12, 13 and 14 Octomber 2010, archaeologists from Buzău County Museum conducted an archaeological preventive excavation in Puieştii de Sus village – Crucea Ilincăi site (marked by a inscribed medieval cross from 1699 ‐ the inscription is analyzed in the text above). The objective was to locate and examine those archaeological funerary complexes situated in this area. The research has led to the identification of seven graves (M 1, M 2, M 2a, M 3, M 4, M 5, M 6). A silver coin dating from the period of Abdul Hamid I (1774 – 1789) or Selim II (1789 – 1807) was recovered from M6.
