Northrop Frye´s Modes of Death

Summary/Abstract: The paper is based on Northrop Frye’s theory of modes and the comparative procedure called by S. S. Prawer placing. The author’s aim is to explain the death of the main heroes of works coming from various modes, examining the hero’s level of information and amount of power, his impact on the present characters, the benefit the characters obtain from death, as well as the characters’ posthumous existence and their final destination.
